CCP Certification Exam Preparation Course

As a result of the survey AACE Australian Section is planning to hold instructor lead exam preparation courses on these topics and the first course scheduled is the Certified Cost Professional (CCP) preparation course.

Course Details

  • Dates: Proposed dates are Sat 5 and Sat 19 Nov 22 08:00 to 16:30 Melbourne time with delivery via Teams.
  • Course Material: This will be the AACE International “CCP Seminar in a Box”: a sample of the content is here:  https://web.aacei.org/docs/default-source/default-document-library/ccpsample-slides.pdf?sfvrsn=0
  • Description and Learning Objectives. This course provides an overview of skills and knowledge of cost engineering. The course will cover basic concepts of estimating, planning and scheduling, cost control and forecasting, breakeven analysis, and productivity analysis. Professionals who attend this Review Course will gain a better understanding of some of the basic concepts of cost engineering. This course is also suitable for those who plan to take the CCP Certification Exam as it will enable attendees to be better prepared to take the exam beyond what they would likely achieve on their own. Each day’s presentation covers subjects that may be found on the certification examination.
  • Knowledge Areas: This course will primarily address those areas where numerical problem solving is of important consideration. The expectation is that professionals who do not routinely solve such problems will find that review to be more worthwhile. These primary areas will include engineering economics, estimating, scheduling and related subjects.
  • Course Material: Students will be required to provide their own study material and the “CCP Certification Study Guide” may be obtained from this link and is one of the recommended texts:  https://www.pathlms.com/aace/courses/3264/documents/3712 . The cost is currently US$50.00 for an electronic copy and US$100.00 for a paper copy.
  • Course Confirmation: The course will run if AACE Australian Section receives 5 or more enrolments.
  • Cost: The cost will be:
    • $450.00 for AACE Australian Section Members,
    • $500.00 for AACE Members who are not Australian Section Members, and
    • $600.00 for attendees who are not AACE Members
    • Payment will be required before the course is confirmed and payment will be by bank deposit into an Australian bank in Australian dollars.
